Homemade Solar Oven

I came across an article today on How to Make a Homemade Solar Oven.

It got me to thinking.  That would be a nice project to keep the kids busy.  Not only that, it’s a great lesson on how to utilize reusable energy (not to mention that if it works, it’s a great toy).

Appreciate the Environment by Camping

CampingWhen I first created this blog, I envisioned myself driving around the country in an RV, writing posts from different locations and sharing the RV and green living experience. Camping and RVing are great ways to regain the proper perspective of and respect for our environment. Let’s face it, when you’re on a camping trip, you tend to be mindful of your consumption and your waste.

I browsed through the Go RVing website and my interests were peaked even more. My past camping trips have been nothing more than a one nighter in a tent. Being a gal from the city I didn’t want to throw myself into culture shock by camping for an entire week at a time (It’s best to take these things slowly).

However, in an RV, I think I can manage to spend quite a few weeks, or even months, touring the country, learning new ways to conserve and give back to the environment. Additionally, I could only imagine that when you come back from an extended camping trip, you no longer take things like clean running water, showers, flushing toilets and trash pickup days for granted.
