Homemade Solar Oven

I came across an article today on How to Make a Homemade Solar Oven.

It got me to thinking.  That would be a nice project to keep the kids busy.  Not only that, it’s a great lesson on how to utilize reusable energy (not to mention that if it works, it’s a great toy).

    Hi Felicia,

I just ran across your blog and wanted to ask if you have taken the time to try solar cooking yet. We started about 6 weeks ago and so far the experience has been great.

To date I have cooked chili, stew, soup, bread, cake and a few other things. I am not using the box style you linked to, but that is next on my list.

Feel free to stop by and check it out if you need a little more evidence it works.

    Hi Tracy,

Can’t say that I’ve used a solar oven yet, but your blog (Cooking with the Sun) is great! I think anyone who is even considering using a solar oven should check it out.
